Ways to apologize:
- I'm sorry.
- I'm so sorry.
- I'm really/awfully sorry.
- I can't tell you how sorry I am.
- Can you ever forgive me?
- I just don't know what to say.
- I apologize (for what I did). I will never do it again.
- I regret what I did. It was stupid, wrong, careless (choose your adjective) It was regretful (the cop out).
You can also add the following:
- an excuse – I didn’t mean to do it.
- an offer of repair -- I’ll make it up to you.
- a promise about future actions -- It'll never happen again.
